Korea 101 Business Insights

October 24, 2023

I recently posted about the importance in Korean business of being an “insider.”

I’d add that it is equally essential to be relevant.

That is current, up-to-date, and knowledgeable about the latest trends and developments in the industry. Not to mention current geo-political issues that have an impact on business.

Even a brief absence from a sector, as short as 6 months, can cause others to perceive one as out of touch.

In rapidly evolving fields such as Autonomous, H2, Mobility, Energy, and AI, this timeline can be reduced to just 3 months.

More so in market entry as sectors like F&B, retail, and services — which are undergoing continual change and localization amid competition.

I feel fortunate to learn daily from the companies I work with on projects. I bring this expertise to all my consultations.

Additionally, I strive daily to stay more than informed. This includes emerging tech like electrification, lithium sourcing, commercialization of H2, and what is hot in the retail and consumer market.

Together and most significantly, I can predict trends and where Korean facing business is headed and mitigate, avert pitfalls and delays…
